Again A Long Overdue Post! Be Prepared its gunna be huge! LOL!

So this post was meant to be done on Monday night, But My housemate and I had a bit of a to-do, and things were a bit tense and I couldn't concentrate because I was Angry, then Life kinda got in the way........Stocktake got in the way and then the week was over and the weekend was upon me again!

I do have a finish to show you though..... I put the last backstitches in Michael Powell's - "Mini Greek Island"

Although and I have said this before, Its not the kind of thing I would normally pick up to stitch, But I did and I loved every moment! So I guess it just goes to show you should try something new...........

"Greek Island" Before
Mini "Greek Island" Finished Friday 30th March 2012
I have looked at more charts by him, but I can only seem to find Kits, which I am not a fan of, although its not like I need anything else to stitch......

Which brings me to my next Point, I have worked myself out a rotation of projects, I'm not sure why it happened but it did........So In my grand plan I have a 4 week rotation and a weekend project. So that means every week a new project. So Last week as busy as it was, In my grand Plan I was going to work on "Father Christmas" by Joan Elliott. However, because the week turned out how it did my progress was small...........

So this was before......

"Father Christmas" 25th March
And this is where I finished of on Thursday night

"Father Chrsitmas" 29th March
So because I finished "Greek Island" My New Weekend Project is a piece I have been commissoned to stitch for a friends granddaughter.

So I am Re-stitching (that's right another re-stitch) Joan Elliot's "Summer Fairy" from Cross Stitch Collection. We picked out a nice hand dyed fabric from 123 Stitch Its a Picture this Plus Fabric called "Ariel" Is a very pale blue, which is not going to photograph that well, But if you Imagine a skein of 3325 but lighter, then you can see what colour it is.

"Summer Fairy" Fabric
My weekend project will come out on a Friday and Saturday. I need to have this finished by her birthday in September.

So far the "Rotation" Looks like this

Week 1 - "Midsummer Fairy"
Week 2 - QS "Pearl"
Week 3 - "Father Christmas"

And Week 4 -

"Earth Goddess" Joan Elliott
Another JE Design, Crazy I think so...............I have really like this from the moment she came out, and she has been kitted up for a long time now, so last night while I was catching up on "Home and Away" I wound the bobbins, so she is ready to start on Sunday Night which is the first night of my week.

Whew I hope you guys are still with me, I'm Nearly done though, can you hold on for a few more minutes...........

So I have been Nominated for the "Liebster Blog Award" which I am thrilled to receive,

Liebster is a German word meaning favourite, dearest or beloved. The Liebster Blog Award is awarded by blogger's to other new blogger's who have fewer than 200 followers, to help spread the word about their blogs and to help them gain wider recognition.

The Liebster award comes with four conditions that each recipient must satisfy when accepting:
1. Choose 5 up-and-coming blogs with less than 200 followers to award the Liebster to.
2. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
3. Post the award on your blog. List the bloggers you are giving the award to with links to their sites. Leave comments on their blog so they know about the award.
4. Share 5 random facts about yourself that people don't know about you

So a big thanks to Louanne and Nicola for their kind nomination, although I cant technically accept it, I would however invite you to look at my reading list, for all the wonderful stitcher's I follow please take the time to look at their beautiful stitching.

I will however share with you 5 random facts about myself

IHSW! A Finish, A New Start, Progress and Some Shredding!

So I have had a rubbish week!

My Cluster headaches have played up something shocking, so I basically spent 3 days in bed, which is not cool! So the doctor has upped the meds and they seem to have settled down some.

So this week has been a little slow.

I do however have a finish to show you!

"Morning Glory" from the Pixie Couture Collection.

This was such a joy to stitch, it was also my first time working with "petite" beads and I really liked them!

"Morning Glory" Before
"Morning Glory" 11th March Before Beads
"Morning Glory" 13th March Finished
"Morning Glory" Up close
I also mounted her yesterday, and on Friday I also re-mounted "Holly" because I always felt she looked a little odd on her canvas, and that's because it was the wrong size and she was out by an Inch! So that Is now fixed.

"Morning Glory" Mounted and Complete
Nora Corbett's Pixie Couture Collection
Now I just need to find homes for them!

So for IHSW I made a new start, its also something completely different than what I would normally do.

Its from a old issue of CrossStitcher and its a design by Michael Powell, Its called "Greek Island"

"Greek Island" Michael Powell
So its something completely different right!

This is what I had done before dinner last night.

"Greek Island"
I'm actually really liking this design, It has 12 colour blends, I also really love the chunky 2 stranded backstitch. I am doing it on my fabric of choice 18ct 2 over 1.

I also finished the bottom of "Midsummer Nights" Dress, now I had not worked on this since Mum passed, I would really like this to be a finish sometime soon.

"Midsummer" before
"Midsummer" After
Whew this is turning into a long winded post, sorry about that, but we are nearly there.........OK

After this Post about copyright and working copies, I went through my folder and had a shredding session it was a heap of fun.

And I was able to fit more stuff into my folder which is good all round don't you think.

I think that will just about do it for now!

A big welcome to my New Followers! I hope you enjoy your ride! I wont be so long in posting, because this has been a mammoth post updating you'll on 2 weeks worth of stitching news!

Have a Fantastic Week!

Happy Stitching All!

A Finish, and Some Stash ...........Ok Lots of Stash!

The weekend has come and gone again, the weather was rubbish, we had a weather bomb hit the North Island yesterday, although it was not as nasty as first thought which is great,  there was still some damage done elsewhere in the Island.!

Because it was not nice means I don't feel guilty about stitching lots! And I did, I even have a finish!

So Friday "Rose Fairy" was getting pretty close

"Rose Fairy" Friday 2nd March
This was all the backstitch done, Including the left wing, which I did after the photo was taken, I have to say I was always "Backstitch last" but doing it as I went on this project may have converted me, to a "Do it as I go"

So Saturday I put on some "Lewis" which I am loving and Finished "Rose"

"Rose Fairy" Saturday 3rd March Before Beads
"Rose Fairy" Finished Saturday 3rd March

She has just had a quick press, and that's about it, she will have a wash next weekend. Overall I'm pretty happy with how she turned out.

I also need to share with you some stash that I brought, in the last HEAD Sales, so the First ones are from the 35% off Valentines Day Sale!

Mini "Village Bookstore" Spangler
Mini "Snow White and Alice" JBG
Mini "Nelli" Hannah Disney
I love the Spangler, and also "Nelli" will be amazing as all the white in her hair is metallic's!

So when they had the Leap Year Day Sale, How can you resist 50% Off! So the "Gardener" said " 3 charts and that's all" So I was good and brought -

Mini "Citrine" Anderson
Mini "Home is where the Magic is" Spangler
And my Favorite Chart of the Bunch

QS "Pearl" Rachel Anderson
I think that "Pearl" will be my next start, after another couple of finishes!

I also need to share with you a funny pic that I took yesterday as the "Gardener" and the Dog had their afternoon nap, I had just finished taking a photo of "Rose" and walked back through the bedroom and was confronted with this -

"Silly Dog"
I also wanted to Thank you all for your supportive comments about giving up smoking, I still miss it like crazy, and I'm still smoke free, the craving's are less now, it just breaking the habit!

Hope you have all had a Wonderful Stitchy Weekend!

Until next time

Happy Stitching all!
