Summer and Winter! Conflicted Much!

So last week saw me recovering from my tooth extraction, this week saw me dealing with the problems of having 2 great big holes in the back of your mouth!

OK there might be a little to much info here for some people, so I suggest you skip ahead to the stitchy stuff if you don't want to read about it.

So the down side to having 2 great big holes in the back of your mouth is everytime you eat there is food getting caught in them! The surgeon was fantastic and he gave me this syrigin to push salted water into the gap, downside you have to have your head at a strange angle to get the point of the needle in the hole! Also what seems like a giant piece of lodged food is actually really small! So I guess the holes aren't that big! But if you don't deal with it as soon as you have eaten you spend all your time playing with the food that sticks out! Anyway I'm sure you get what I mean. However everyday I can however feel them getting smaller and smaller, just cant wait till they are no longer there, and this can all become a distant memory! I'm also back on a normal diet and am no longer taking any pain relief which is fantastic!

Now onto the stitchy stuff.

This week In my rotation was JE "Santa" He is shaping up, but like I mentioned I'm not feeling the piece so am thinking about dropping it. I'm not saying I dislike the design, I think its because its nearly the middle of the year and I'm Stitching something Xmas themed.

"Santa" Before

"Santa" After 26th April

I changed the White in the Dove as well, instead of "Blanc" I have changed it to "5200" which stands out much better against the "Antique White" fabric. Also will look much better when it has its metallic backstitch.

I am also allot further on with JE "Summer Fairy"
"Summer" After 28th April

So the top 2 pages are nearly done, next weekend I plan to get them done completely, backstitched and all.

This weeks rotation piece is JE"Earth Goddess"

Thanks for your wonderful comments about the cake in my last post! It was amazing, and Yes that was "Kit Kat" bars around the outside and mini MandM's on the top!

Hope you all have a fantastic week!

Happy Stitching All!

IHSW April!

So I have just logged into blogger and what the.........its all changed!  LOL!

Welcome to all my new followers I hope you enjoy your ride!

Thanks to all of you for the kind wishes on the removal of my Wisdom Teeth! I have to say that it was no where near as bad as I thought or lead to believe, and now that they are gone I feel 100% better! So the Gardener is convinced that It was the cause of all the headaches but I guess time will tell. I will say that I remember arriving at the dentist and the next thing I am at home on the couch watching TV! I Did however, (and please no Laughing), Pick up my Stitching and Did about 100 stitches before I thought It was a good Idea to Stop!

So after Working on "Midsummer" The Next project on the rotation is HAED "Pearl" and I think I have made a good dent in her I'm nearly up to 2 pages finished

HAED QS "Pearl" 19th April

So over IHSW I worked on my Weekend project which is "Summer Fairy"

JE "Summer Fairy" 21st April
This week we have JE "Santa" on the Hoop, I have to say I am a little bored with it, I'm not sure why, so I'm thinking I will see the week out then I might retire the Design for a bit and either Start something new or add both HAED's that I talked about in my last post.

Joan Elliott has announced the 3rd Fairy in the Garden Series, Which is a "Butterfly Fairy" and its AMAZING!

JE "Butterfly Fairy"
So its out in Issue 210 of Cross Stitch Collection Unfortunately I will have to wait for it to arrive here in NZ!

I would also like to share with you the Birthday Cake I made for a work friend for today!

So apart from spending a few days swollen and sore I'm pretty much back to normal!

I hope you all had a fantastic IHSW, I'm now off to stalk your Progress!

Have a Fantastic Week all!

Happy Stitching!

For my Readers in NZ and Australia I hope you all have a Pleasant and thoughtful ANZAC Day!

Holiday from work and something to get my teeth into!

Well once again I must apologise for my lax in attendance at showing my face around these parts!

Easter has been and gone! My last holiday for the year is nearly over! April is nearly half over and time sure flies when you are in pain! (I feel like every post recently I've had something wrong with me!)

So to begin at the beginning  -

Last week I added my fourth and final piece into my weekly rotation "Earth Goddess" at the end of the week she had a decent start!

"Earth Goddess" Week 1
Not to bad right, I love all of the colours that Joan has used and for some reason she stitch's up quite fast.

Easter happens next! 10 days away from work and all the drama that goes with it! YAY! Awsome! or so you would think!

The weekend rolls around and I pull out "Summer" so she can have her 2 days in the sun!

"Summer" Before
"Summer" After
For some reason I'm liking her more the second time around, I think that might have something to do with the fact that the first time around, she was my first big project after coming back to stitching after a break. Also you can see I have broken a habit and have stitched her face near the beginning!

After the weekend I moved onto week 1's project which is "Midsummer Nights Fairy" for my sister! Now this project I have Not enjoyed, I'm sure we have all been there, had a project that we did not feel! Well I'm not feeling this! at all! Don't ask me why!

"Midsummer" Before
And this is where she is this morning!

"Midsummer" After
Its now time to add all of this -

She just needs her beads! Things I have Learnt while stitching this piece "I hate 2 over 1 Blending Filament" Also 1 strand Filament 1 strand #4 thread! Which for the record that's what her wings are stitched in! Arrrrggggghhhhhhhh I think those wings were sent to test me! However once that have been backstitched I can then bead her and she is out of my hair! I know I should have put her down and walked away, but that would giving into the little fairy and I'm not about to do that! OK that's enough rant! I should have her done shortly It would have been today if not for that fact -

I'm having my Wisdom Teeth Out this afternoon! Great end to my break right!

I was meant to have them out the week that my passed away, but we were in a different city, It wasn't going to happen!

So I wake up on Wednesday morning and My head is swimming and I cant stand up! Great My Vertigo is back! Arrrgggghhhhhh and My teeth are aching! I knew right away what the issue was, So I ring the surgeon and they could fit me in for Friday! YAY! Although I hate the dentist at the best of times...........I hope I get some mightily fine drugs that's all I can say!

Back to things we like, I'm also thinking of a new project to add once "Midsummer" is done. It's either going to be -

"FOF 88"

Mini "Aquamarine
These are my last 2 project in my UFO pile, so any thoughts would be great! I'm further along on FOF that the mini! What would you like to see??

So that's about it again! Another long post I'm sorry!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Happy Stitching!
